UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors are worn out with time and require to be replaced. In this case, it is essential that the new handles match the critical dimensions of the handle that was previously used.
The top screw's location as well as the lever and keyhole size are the three measurements you have to determine. Use the size guide to assist you.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be used on doors that are new or replacement. This style of handle is available in various designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles of uPVC/Composite are made of robust materials and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline, and they utilize the same screws and spindle to secure them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be placed and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to fit a wide range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is situated further away from the door. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with a latch that can be activated with the thumb located on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles that are found on most doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and finishes.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome, and Gold. repairmywindowsanddoors is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and durability for its intended purpose.
All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws and can be installed on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is usually beneficial when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers have a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that move out of horizontal position when not being used.
When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is essential to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also called 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.
Once you have the proper PZ size you will then be required to make sure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a suitable shape to fit the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you require for your doors. These are typically round or square with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they return to their horizontal position after not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a home. Also, the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are handed that allows you to put them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are usually used on uPVC doors, but can also be used on other types of doors. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case that is then revealed with pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body and allowing them to turn the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with internal and external doors generally having different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder is essential. It's dependent on the use that your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders, whereas internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders come with additional features that can improve security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump features.
A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure it's the correct size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks, such as lock snapping, so it is important to make sure it's not too long.
Most modern cylinders are made with anti-drill and bump resistance features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This will help to stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.
Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a growing kind of attack on cylinders where the break line in the lock is attacked by a tool that is specially designed to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a much faster and simpler method to gain access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can hinder insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits within the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after use. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is among the best methods to correct this and it is also an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they are not always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a bespoke hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes in the backplates of door handles of many brands of uPVC doors. They are supplied in a single unit. They have a square-cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
These spring cassettes provide an excellent value solution for the issue of door handles that have become sagging. These spring cassettes are simple to install and will extend the life of your uPVC door. Please contact our team for more information on our wide range of uPVC accessories and spares.
